Overview
TrybeOne is a mobile platform built for Nigerian youth aged 15 to 25 — a demographic with immense energy and ambition but few digital spaces designed specifically for them. The app combines earning opportunities, self-development content, and community interaction into a single, cohesive experience.
Built with Flutter for cross-platform deployment on both iOS and Android, TrybeOne aims to become the go-to destination for young Nigerians looking to connect, learn, and improve their financial standing.

The Problem
Nigerian youth face a fragmented digital landscape. Earning opportunities live on one platform, educational content on another, and social connection on yet another. None of these spaces are designed with their specific context in mind — local payment systems, data affordability, and community-driven trust.
Existing apps either target a global audience with generic features or focus on a single vertical. There was no unified platform that let a young Nigerian discover a local event, learn a new skill, and earn money — all within the same ecosystem.
TrybeOne was built to fill that gap.
My Contribution
I contributed to TrybeOne as a contractor, collaborating with the product team to implement three core feature areas:
Event Management
Built the full event lifecycle — creation, discovery, RSVP, and check-in. Users can browse events by category and location, register with a single tap, and receive reminders before the event starts. The event feed is personalised based on user interests and past attendance.
Digital Wallet
Implemented an in-app wallet system that handles balances, transactions, and payouts. Users can earn money through platform activities, track their balance in real time, and withdraw to their local bank accounts. The wallet integrates with Nigerian payment rails for seamless deposits and withdrawals.
Community Interaction
Developed the social layer — user profiles, group creation, activity feeds, and direct messaging. The community features are designed to encourage meaningful interaction while maintaining a safe environment for the target age group.
Tech Stack
The app is built with Flutter and Dart, enabling a single codebase to ship on both iOS and Android with near-native performance. Firebase handles authentication and real-time data sync via Firestore, while a REST API layer manages business logic and third-party integrations. Push notifications are delivered through Netcore for reliable engagement.
Results
TrybeOne is live in production on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, with over 1,000 downloads on Android alone. The platform continues to grow as more young Nigerians discover and join their Trybe.
Client Word
Working with Stephen on TrybeOne brought a level of technical discipline that elevated the entire project. The event management and wallet features were delivered on schedule and have been stable since launch.
