Short version: We use only essential and lightweight
analytics cookies. We set zero advertising cookies and share nothing with
ad networks. You can opt out of analytics at any time.
01 What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, phone
or tablet) by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to
make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to
provide analytical information to site owners.
Cookies are not harmful programs. They cannot execute code, carry
viruses or access information on your device beyond what they were
set for. They can be read only by the website that created them
(first-party) or by a designated third-party service.
In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage — these work in a similar way but
store data inside your browser rather than as a separate file. This policy
covers all such technologies.
02 How we use cookies
Axxellance uses cookies for two purposes only:
- Essential operation — to make the Site function correctly
(e.g. maintaining session state, remembering your cookie preference).
- Analytics — to understand how visitors use the Site
in aggregate (pages visited, time on site, general location by country)
so we can improve the experience.
We do not use cookies for:
- Advertising or retargeting (we have no ad campaigns).
- Cross-site tracking or fingerprinting.
- Selling or sharing data with data brokers or ad networks.
- Profiling individual users.
03 Cookie list
The table below lists all cookies and similar storage items
currently used on the Axxellance website. We keep this list up to
date when we make changes.
| Name | Type | Duration | Purpose |
| axx_cookie_consent | Essential | 1 year | Remembers whether you have acknowledged our cookie notice,
so we don't show it on every page visit. |
| axx_theme | Functional | Session | Stores your display preference (currently dark-mode only —
reserved for future light/dark toggle). |
| _analytics_session | Analytics | 30 minutes | Groups page views into a single session for analytics
reporting. Contains no personal identifiers. |
| _analytics_visitor | Analytics | 1 year | Distinguishes between first-time and returning visitors in
aggregate reports. Uses a random, anonymised ID — not linked
to any personal data. |
All cookies listed above are first-party (set by axxellance.com
directly) unless otherwise noted in Section 4.
04 Third-party cookies
Some functionality on the Site relies on third-party services that
may set their own cookies. We keep these to a minimum:
- Google Fonts — when your browser loads a page, it may
request fonts directly from Google's servers. Google may log this request.
We have evaluated self-hosting fonts as an alternative and may switch
to eliminate this entirely. See Google's Privacy Policy ↗.
- Font Awesome / jsDelivr CDN — icon assets are loaded
from jsDelivr's CDN. The CDN may log request metadata for performance
and abuse-prevention purposes. No personal data is shared. See jsDelivr Privacy Policy ↗.
- Analytics provider — if a third-party analytics tool
is used, it will be listed here. We favour cookie-less or consent-not-required
tools (e.g. Plausible, Fathom) that are GDPR-compliant by design.
We do not embed social media widgets, YouTube videos or any other
third-party content that would set advertising cookies without your
knowledge.
05 Managing & disabling cookies
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies
(other than strictly essential ones). Here's how:
Browser settings: All modern browsers allow you to control
cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse some
or all cookies, or to alert you when a cookie is being placed. Note that
disabling cookies may affect Site functionality.
Opt out of analytics: If you wish to be excluded from
our analytics completely, you can install a browser extension such as
this one (if using Google Analytics) or use a privacy-focused browser extension
like uBlock Origin. You can also contact us at legal@axxellance.com and we will add your IP to an exclusion list.
Essential cookies: Some cookies are strictly necessary
for the Site to function (e.g. remembering your cookie preference). These
cannot be disabled through our Site, but you can still delete them via
your browser settings.
06 Do Not Track
Some browsers support a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal that you can
send to websites to indicate that you do not wish to be tracked.
There is currently no universal standard for how websites should
respond to DNT signals.
Axxellance does not currently alter its data collection practices in
response to a DNT signal. However, because we use only minimal
analytics with no cross-site tracking or advertising cookies, the
practical impact on your privacy is the same regardless of your DNT
setting.
07 Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example when
we add new functionality to the Site or when regulations change.
When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of
this page.
Significant changes will be flagged in the cookie notice banner on
the Site so you are aware of what has changed and can re-evaluate
your preferences.
